Griffith University highlights that, at the World Aquatics Championship held earlier this year in Japan, almost a third of the Australian Dolphins team were either Griffith students, alumni, or swimmers.

The University’s 14-athlete contingent contributed to multiple gold medals and world records, among them being Kaylee McKeown who was named Female Swimmer of the Year.

The Griffith University Swim Club is the only high-performance program on the Gold Coast supported by Swimming Australia. Their elite program is led by legendary Australian coach Michael Bohl and Olympian Janelle Pallister. The development program is coached by Olympian Tom Fraser-Holmes.   

In a statement Griffith University advised “we are also pleased to be deepening our long-term partnership with Swimming Australia. This will continue our support for the sport while having a major impact on legacy, sustainability, and inclusion programs in and out of the pool.”
