Golf Australia announces major partnership with Apia
Golf Australia has announced a new multi-year major partnership with Apia - one of Australia’s leading insurance specialists – in which Apia will be recognised as an official partner of Golf Australia’s ‘Get into Golf’ seniors’ program and will also be an exclusive partner of all Golf Australia event volunteers and an official partner of major events across the Golf Australia calendar when they resume.
Apia’s partnership with Golf Australia’s ‘Get into Golf’ seniors’ program will support participants in staying active, connected to their community and learning the skills of the sport.
Golf Australia Chief Executive, James Sutherland was excited about the partnership’s synergies and notes “Apia has a goal to help Australians enjoy longer, happier and healthier lives in retirement and this is something that we hope to directly influence through the health and wellbeing benefits of more people playing more golf.
“We look forward to working with Apia with the shared goal of driving golf participation and rewarding golfers across the country.”
Apia Insurance Products & Portfolio Chief Executive, Lisa Harrison said the team was incredibly excited about the opportunity to partner with Golf Australia and added “at Apia, we’re all about the possibilities, and offering our customers access to opportunities and experiences so they can enjoy the good life in retirement.
“Participating in golf is a great way for older Australians to stay active and connected, so we’re looking forward to working with Golf Australia to deliver a range of activities and events in 2021.”
Apia is a specialist insurer to help customers with products and services exclusively designed for retirement.
Apia will connect directly with Australian golfers through www.golf.org.au and Golf Australia’s handicap system, where more than 38,000 golfers check their handicaps daily.
