Gold’s Gym Port Kennedy holds ‘Survivor’ fundraising challenge
September 24, 2020

Gold's Gym Port Kennedy, situated south of Perth, is celebrating surviving eight years in business by holding a special event on 26th September that will see contestants of Australian Survivor and members and guests of the gym taking up the ‘Survive the Eight’ challenge – an event that will also aim to raise $8,000 for Zonta House Refuge Association.

Open to both members and non-members, the Gold’s Survive the Eight challenge will see participants work in teams of three to keep four pieces of gym equipment moving across eight hours. Competing for the glory as well as major prizes, teams will be assessed on their ability to withstand the eight hours, the number of burned calories calculated across the machines and MYZONE heart rate monitor points.

Taking up the challenge is Luke Toki from Australian Survivor who has “called in the big guns” to make up his team of three with Australian Survivor Champions Vs Contenders contestant Zach and Australian Survivor All Stars Winner 'David'.

Toki shared “if you would like to come down and support us and come say ‘hi’ on the day, make a donation or if this is a topic close to your heart, don't be shy to reach out.”

The day’s celebrations will also include a complimentary gym session, bouncy castle for children, mini challenges throughout the morning, prizes and giveaways every 30 minutes, plus a one-day sale.

Challenge participants will pay a $100 entry fee per team with all proceed going towards Zonta House and members of the public are encouraged to donate to the cause through a Go Fund Me Page set up by Gold’s Gym Port Kennedy.

Zonta House Refuge Association proudly focus on supporting women who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing domestic violence.

Starting the festivities at 9am on 26th September, Gold’s Gym Port Kennedy invites the public to come and experience their gym and witness the incredible challenge they’ve set for a maximum of 25 teams.
