Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference to be staged at Hobart’s MONA

Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference to be staged at Hobart’s MONA
May 25, 2016

Ecotourism Australia's 2016 Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference will be staged at the MONA in Hobart from 21st to 23rd November.

The longest running ecotourism conference in the world, Global Eco Asia-Pacific brings together industry leaders and top presenters from across Australia and around the world to further develop the industry.

Featuring speakers on ecotourism, sustainability and responsible tourism, it brings together - tourism operators, protected area managers, tourism organisations, indigenous bodies and researchers.

Increasingly Global Eco is at the hub of partnerships between protected area managers and the tourism industry – across infrastructure and investment, quality, conservation and land management.

The event facilitates exceptional business networking and has consistently created significant business benefits for delegates. With 25 years of experience under its belt, Ecotourism Australia's members have been at the cutting edge of ecotourism development at a global level. Now in its 24th year, Global Eco Asia Pacific is a business-to-business and business-to-government event focused on practical and applied ecotourism.

The conference is a clearing house of ideas, innovation and best practice using keynote speakers to open up discussions across the key thematic areas and concurrent theme streams to develop these discussions.

It features specialised masterclasses and workshops to enable delegates to get the very most out of their investment and seeks the maximum interaction of delegates and it maximises opportunities for networking and technical tours.

With the theme, Ecotourism: Fostering Innovation – Sustaining Excellence, the 2016 conference will focus on the very fundamentals of ecotourism – pushing the boundaries to provide tourists with outstanding experiences in a way that respects the environment, the local community and the culture of the destination.

The conference venue, MONA (pictured at top), and Tasmania's ecotourism industry have been scooping the pool of tourism awards for several years now and the 2016 conference will demonstrate how this has been achieved.

The Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service is the major supporter and partner of the conference.
