Former Parks Victoria Chief Executive launches Canadian-based consultancy
Former Parks Victoria Chief Executive Bradley Fauteux, who left the organisation abruptly in September last year, has launched a new strategic advisory and leadership development consulting firm in his native Canada.
In his new venture, Fauteux will be tapping into the range of capabilities he developed over 16 years in executive and senior management positions with Ontario Parks and the broader public sector.
However, in Australia, Fauteux is best known for his 10 months as Chief Executive Parks Victoria (between November 2015 and September 2016), from which he was sacked for "inappropriate behaviour".
At the time of his termination, Park Victoria's board, cited "unacceptable conduct" in relation to integrity.
At the time of his sacking it was reported that Victoria’s Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC) was investigating the allegations with Victorian Environment Minister D'Ambrosio advising that Parks Victoria was conducting an internal investigation.
No results of these investigations have been revealed publically.
Commenting on his new venture, Fauteux advised “a lot of my focus has been on programs designed to boost the public's connection to the natural resources that are so much a part of Canada's persona.
"However, the skills behind that work and the expertise needed to successfully lead natural resource programs is relevant to any type of organization and has helped to broaden interest in my capabilities."
In leveraging his experience in service delivery, organisational design, business development, relationship and financial management, his consultancy services include:
Business strategy: using various methodologies to help clients design and execute the necessary frameworks for achieving performance excellence. Strategic advisory services will also be a key part of this offering.
Leadership development: focusing on helping organizations and individuals expand their capacity for the responsibilities of leadership from decision-making to communications to courage.
Government relations: facilitating the right approaches to build and maintain bridges with governments at all levels.
Natural resources management: counselling on the sustainability concerns and environmental protections and stewardship issues that are relevant to Canada's protected areas.
Relationships with indigenous peoples: providing advice on relationships and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
Over his career, Fauteux has won various awards for his creative campaigns to build a greater sense of ownership in Ontario Parks' programs.
While with Ontario Parks, he was responsible for 2,500 employees and oversaw a $90 million operating budget and a $1.5 billion capital portfolio. He also worked with more than 300 intergovernmental, community, indigenous and private sector partners to help meet the needs of 10 million park users annually.
