A range of entertaining fantasy based attractions and entertainment experiences are set to be offered at Kryal Castle.

With the Victorian attraction in the final stages of its redevelopment, building and theming works are being completed with lavish care and attention to detail in preparation for relaunch.

Unlike any other attraction in Australia, Kryal Castle is set to recreate a legendary and mythical land of medieval knights, battles, dragons, wizards, kings, enchanting queens, princesses and fairies.

Since the closure of Kryal Castle early this year, a team of tradespeople, scenic artists and sculptors from around the country have worked in turning the castle into a new and exciting tourist attraction, function, wedding, conference and accommodation destination.

Kryal Castle spokesperson Erin Joyce explains "the detailed thematic, sculpting and set construction works combined with a wonderful dose of modern special effects and techniques will have visitors immersed in a movie set type environment.

"Merlin, A Knights Tale, Once Upon a Time, The Hobbit and even Harry Potter come to mind."

The sculpting and thematic team, lead by Chris McMahon from Sculpture Works, are currently working around the clock to ensure the key attractions are nothing short of remarkable.

McMahan adds "we pride ourselves on delivering scenic and thematic works that are unique and of the highest quality. Most of our work is on movie sets, which are often dismantled after shooting. Being part of the team that is transforming the Castle, is not only exciting but gives us the chance to apply some amazing special effects for the long term."

Including the special effects entry attraction - The Dragon's Labyrinth - a team of up to 40 sculptors and artists are working on a range of thematic sculptured concrete rockwork forms and textures including the Ancient Cemetery, Sword Fountain, an Enchanted Tree and stunning stone features and fireplaces in the Knights Round Table Tower, to name a few. There is also significant themed roofing and exteriors across the site.

Joyce concludes "the Park is very close to completion. This project has not been a simple case of collecting more medieval assortments and opening the gates to visitors. It is characterised by original theming and design which will provide visitors with memorable and magical experiences and a feeling that they have entered a special place, leaving the everyday behind.

"We have many surprises up our sleeve and are excited about unveiling the new Kryal Castle. Due to delays in the shipment of some specialist component and special effects parts for a few of our key attractions, the launch date is now set for early 2013."

An official opening date will be announced later this month.
