FieldTurf and TurfOne announced as Sustainability Partners for National Sports and Physical Activity Convention
May 28, 2024

The National Sports and Physical Activity Convention (NSC) is pleased to announce FieldTurf and TurfOne have joined forces to be the event’s sustainability partners.

For more than a decade, FieldTurf Australia and TurfOne have been partners for major sports fields, combining expertise and innovation in their work.

TurfOne, a leader in civil contracting for sports field construction, has long championed precision and sustainability in every project, setting a standard of excellence in the industry. Their focus on repurposing materials, waste reduction, and water optimisation reflects a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.

TurfOne Construction Manager, Mike Fitzpatrick commented “TurfOne is proud to partner with FieldTurf as the Sustainability Partner at this year’s National Sports and Physical Activity Convention. The relationship and support from FieldTurf are exceptional - they are front runners in research and development and provide us with the latest artificial turf innovations.

“By continuously improving their products and paying special attention to athletes’ safety and comfort, FieldTurf continues to be recognized as one of the best and most reliable turf companies in the industry for sports and landscape applications alike.”

Marina Cruz, General Manager of FieldTurf Australia, noted “partnering with TurfOne as the sustainability partner for the National Sports Convention is a testament to our shared commitment to environmental stewardship.

“As part of this commitment, I’m thrilled to announce that we will be launching Core Prime, our groundbreaking sustainable fibre for major sports fields, at the NSC. Made with recycled polymers, Core Prime sets a new standard for eco-friendly synthetic turf, demonstrating our dedication to environmental responsibility and innovation.”

Under the stewardship of Smart Connection Consultancy (SCC), the NSC acknowledges the impact of climate change on the sports industry’s prosperity and the communities it serves.

NSC and SCC are dedicated to promoting, advocating, and investing in initiatives to mitigate the industry’s climate impact. Their alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through a Triple Bottom Line framework underscores their commitment to leaving a positive legacy for future generations.

Commenting on the partnership, NSC Chief Executive, Martin Sheppard stated “we are very pleased to have FieldTurf and TurfOne on board, which recognises their commitment to sustainability and also allows NSC to plant a tree for every one of our paying delegates as part of our commitment.”

FieldTurf Australia, renowned for manufacturing high-performance artificial turf systems locally, integrates innovation and quality into every project. Their commitment to sustainability is evident in their solar-powered factory, setting a new standard for eco-conscious manufacturing practices. Trusted by elite associations worldwide, including FIFA, World Rugby, and FIH, FieldTurf exemplifies excellence in quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Their collaboration has left an impressionable mark on various projects, including esteemed institutions such as Monash University, Macquarie University, and St. Monica’s College.

As the sports industry faces unprecedented challenges posed by climate change, the NSC, FieldTurf, and TurfOne stand united in their commitment to sustainability.

NSC 2024 is being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27th and 28th June.
