read moreA new range of security gates is helping gyms, aquatic and recreation centres and fitness clubs protect their facilities and boost revenue without stretching their budgets, with early adopters reporting membership growth, more streamlined access for members and staff feeling safer.
Entrance Control's GymGate range includes four models designed specifically for fitness facilities, providing high-quality security features at price points accessible to smaller venues as well as those managed by charities or community organisations.
Advising that the GymGate range had been developed in response to growing demand from organisations seeking dependable security solutions that wouldn't put a strain on their resources, Entrance Control General Manager, Michael Bystram explained “the GymGate range was developed to deliver professional protection at lower price points, allowing facilities to stay within their budget by choosing only the features they require.
"We understand that many gyms and leisure centres need reliable access control but might not have the foot traffic or budget of larger venues.”
The range includes the standard GymGate 212, featuring remote control capabilities, fire-alarm integration, and four optical sensors, while the intermediate-level GymGate 710 builds on the standard model with enhanced sensors and sleek aesthetics.
The premium-level GymGate 760 boasts WingLights and nine optical sensors, while the 2,080mm-tall GymGate 24H offers watertight, remotely-managed access control for unattended entrances. All options in the range can be configured with a 1,000mm-wide lane to comply with Australia’s Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and accessible building standards.
Among the first organisations to install the gates is St Kilda Police and Citizens' Youth Club in Melbourne.
St Kilda Police and Citizens’ Youth Club Gym Manager Donny Pelsoczy said the GymGate 710s they installed had improved security and operational efficiency, as well as providing a smoother entry experience for members.
Pelsoczy noted "members don't have to wait for reception to sign them in, it makes getting in the gym quicker - there's no bottleneck.
"Not only do staff feel safer, especially at night when they can control and monitor who comes into the gym, but the new gates have added to the club's financial bottom line."
Bystram said the PCYC example was a great example of Entrance Control’s commitment to supporting organisations of all sizes.
“Every facility that serves its community by offering health, leisure and sporting activities should be able to afford to safeguard its members, staff and equipment with professional access control, without compromising on quality.”
GymGates integrate seamlessly with membership systems, allowing facilities to welcome members easily while deterring tailgaters. Installation can be completed with minimal disruption using the optional GymGate Floor Protector, which eliminates the need for permanent floor modifications.
