read moreDreamworld has been issued with several notices for improvements to be made after safety checks by Workplace Health and Safety inspectors.
With the Queensland Government currently conducting safety audits at all Queensland theme parks, inspectors cited faults with the BuzzSaw rollercoaster.
The audits, being undertaken by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) followed after the deaths of four adults on Dreamworld’s Thunder River Rapids Ride on 25th October.
While eight improvement notices were issued over minor matters at Dreamworld and Whitewater World, three prohibition notices related to more serious issues discovered with the BuzzSaw ride.
Dreamworld Chief Executive Craig Davidson said none of the problems identified were "guest safety issues", stating “we are unswervingly committed to go well beyond legislative requirements to ensure every one of our 24 rides and 10 water slides at Dreamworld and WhiteWater World exceed even the most stringent of safety measures.”
WHSQ's recommendations included using durable tags on electrical equipment and requiring staff to wear protective equipment while handling pool chemicals.
Dreamworld has addressed or is addressing all the issues.
