Dreamworld extends season passes, stresses safety of WhiteWater World

Dreamworld extends season passes, stresses safety of WhiteWater World
December 1, 2016

In reopening Dreamworld on Saturday 10th December, the operators of the Gold Coast attraction have also looked to emphasise the safety of the theme park’s WhiteWater World waterpark attraction.

Announcing the reopenings, Dreamworld Chief Executive Craig Davidson emphasised that all WhiteWater World’s slides, pools and cabanas are fully operational, stating that “Royal Lifesaving Queensland representatives will have completed an audit of the water park’s lifesaving procedures and safety signage.”

Davidson also announced a six month extension for all passholders to Dreamworld and WhiteWater World, adding “we are deeply indebted to our passholders for their loyalty, patience and understanding during this multi-level safety review process.

“As Dreamworld and WhiteWater World comprise Australia’s biggest theme park, it takes time to methodically work through our multi-level safety review process.

"This is a necessary and important process we simply cannot rush.

“To show our depth of gratitude and appreciation to our wonderful Dreamworld customers, we will be adding an extra six month period to every passholder’s current expiry date, without charge.”

Dreamworld owner Ardent Leisure, now known as Main Event Entertainment, is estimated to have incurred a $13 million financial loss as a result of the closure.
