The new home of Gymnastics New South Wales, the specialist facilities are complemented with a central service area with members assistance, merchandise and a café with seating for 80 people.
In addition to catering for top-level gymnasts, SGAC aims to encourage sport participation and skill development for all community members of all ages and physical ability.
The Centre will host a number of pilot programs including Rebound Therapy, a low intensity trampoline program for people with restricted movement; as well as a movement program for the elderly and various youth leadership and development programs.
Welcoming the opening, Rooty Hill RSL Chief Executive Richard Errington explains "this premier facility will cater for the fitness needs, sporting aspirations and rehabilitative requirements of local, national and international members and visitors.
"We are ready for a new era where children in this area have ready access to awesome aquatic facilities, and people come from far and wide for state of the art gymnastics equipment, coaches and training methods overseen by the best mentors this country has to offer."
The new centre is expected to cater for over 2,000 young gymnasts each, at all levels, while the venue will also be the new home of Gymnastics NSW Men's elite program, which is relocating from Homebush into the custom built 1,200 seat arena serving as the launch pad for future Olympic and current world gymnastics champions.
Welcoming the move, Gymnastics NSW Chief Executive Aaron Bloomfield stated "SGAC is the largest state-of-the-art gymnastics facility in Australia.
"The centre includes international grade equipment across all three operational areas, providing a versatile space that will simultaneously host events, high performance training and club gymnastics classes.
"The sheer size of the facility is like no other of its kind in New South Wales, or Australia. It provides Gymnastics NSW with an unprecedented opportunity to fully develop its sport and events programs and provide the people of greater western Sydney, New South Wales and Australia with a world-class gymnastics experience."
In addition to providing opportunities for participation for the people of greater western Sydney in traditional gym sport activities, the SGAC will also host a number of pilot programs including Rebound Therapy, a low intensity trampoline program for people with restricted movement, a movement program for the elderly, and various youth leadership and development programs.
Alongside the launch of the SGAC there have been other changes to the health and fitness product at the Rooty Hill RSL.
