Delaware North Resorts appoints UK and Europe Sales Chief
June 24, 2010

Delaware North Australia Parks & Resorts has appointed Rhett Lego as its UK & Europe Sales Manager.

Lego is a tourism industry and is Chief Executive of The Conjoint Marketing Group (TCMG), a strategic sales and marketing representation company established in Munich in 2004.

TCMG has a portfolio of Australian, New Zealand and Indian Ocean tourism products and destinations which it represents across the UK and European markets.

Lego (pictured) will be responsible for strengthening existing relationships with trade partners and clients in the UK and European markets, sourcing new business opportunities and building awareness of the properties under new ownership by Delaware North Australia Parks & Resorts.

As he explains, "Lizard, Heron and Wilson Islands, El Questro and Kings Canyon Resort represent iconic Australian experiences that encapsulate the very essence of Australia. From the Queensland Great Barrier Reef islands, to Western Australia's Kimberley region and the heart of the Red Centre, these properties really do reflect Australia's diverse and wilderness landscape that European travellers are seeking to experience.

"We are absolutely delighted to have been appointed to represent and showcase these experiential resorts to the key source markets throughout Europe and the UK."

Delaware North Australia Parks & Resorts acquired Lizard Island, Heron Island and Wilson Island in Queensland's World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, plus Kings Canyon Resort in the Northern Territory in November 2009,. The acquisition of El Questro Wilderness Park & Homestead in the Kimberley region of Western Australia in March 2010 completed the first stages of Delaware North's expansion in Australia.

Michelle Kenna, Director of Sales and Marketing for Delaware North Australia Parks & Resorts, explained âwe are thrilled that Rhett will be representing our portfolio of properties across Europe and the UK. These source markets are very important to us, and we are confident that Rhett will ensure our properties are top of mind with our loyal industry partners."

Delaware North Companies Australia and New Zealand operates at more than 30 locations throughout Australia, including outlets at the national and state capital city airports, Wellington Airport in New Zealand, and Launceston Airport in Tasmania, and railway stations including Sydney Central Station and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.

The company also provides all hospitality, food and beverage at Melbourne & Olympic Parks, Etihad Stadium (Melbourne), the WACA (Perth) and Vector Arena (Auckland). They also operate at Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and Sovereign Hill.
