Daily trains stopping at Perth Stadium precinct station

Daily trains stopping at Perth Stadium precinct station
April 7, 2024

Access to the Perth Stadium precinct and Optus Stadium has been enhanced with transport operator Transperth having commenced regular stops at the Stadium Station.

Limited to event days weekends, and public holidays since the Stadium opened in early 2018 trains on the Armadale/Thornlie Line have been stopping at Stadium Station every 7.5 minutes since last Tuesday.

People can travel to Stadium Station from anywhere on the network in the wider metropolitan area for no more than $5.10 to enjoy the precinct’s playgrounds and activities ranging from mini-golf to ziplining along with public barbeques.

Commenting on the initiative, Western Australian Transport Minister, Rita Saffioti stated “the area around the stadium is a beautiful precinct that has plenty to offer outside of event days, from a picturesque waterside walk or cycle to the Matagarup Zip+Climb, sensory playground, parklands, barbeque and picnic facilities, and easy access to local businesses.

"Limiting public transport access to weekends and public holidays kept this worldclass area inaccessible for many. Opening up Perth Stadium Station on weekdays will give both locals and tourists alike more opportunity to explore and enjoy the precinct.”

The 2nd April start date coincided with Western Australia’s first week of school holidays.
