Countdown to International Water Safety and Aquatic Education Conference in Queenstown
August 23, 2013

A first time coming together of Australasia's leading water safety organisations AUSTSWIM (Australasian Council for the Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety) and Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) has resulted in the joint presentation of an international conference on water safety and aquatic education that will open in just 40 days.

The inaugural International Water Safety and Aquatic Education Conference will be held in from 3rd to 5th October 2013 at the Rydges Lakeland Resort, Queenstown, New Zealand.

The combined event replaces AUSTSWIM's National Aquatic Education Conference, normally held on the Gold Coast in July, and the New Zealand Water Safety Conference, hosted by WSNZ on a bi-annual basis.

In excess of 300 delegates are expected to attend from a variety of disciplines and sectors from across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Rim.

Over two information-packed days, these participants will present and discuss a wealth of initiatives, concepts, research and programs in water safety and aquatic education.

Industry leading keynote speakers will also address the event, including:

• Peter Chennell, Royal National Lifeboat Institution
• Jeff Hoedt, US Coast Guard
• Oscar Kightley
• Scott Rice, Quantum Events
• Paul Thompson, Water Babies

The Conference also include as full social calendar:
