read moreThe past 24 hours has seen industry body Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) experience an issue with potentially false invoices sent to member.
Early yesterday afternoon, the Adelaide-based organisation sent an email to members stating “we have have (sic) had reports of people receiving a false invoice phishing email.
“The email has a subject of either 'Invoice W15691' or 'Invoice WXXXXX', where 'XXXXX' is a series of numbers, and is being sent from finanace@parksleisure.com.au.”
PLA advised “while we investigate this matter, please do not open any attachments or click on any links provided.”
Later in the day, PLA, which has been registered as a private company since 1999, updated members “we have got to the bottom of the recent invoice billing.
“Our web developers were conducting tests on our system on Friday 7 May which resulted in membership renewal invoices being sent early.”
The parks body went on to apologise “for any inconvenience caused”.
