Comment invited on Northern Territory Sport and Active Recreation Master Plan

Comment invited on Northern Territory Sport and Active Recreation Master Plan
March 18, 2016

Comment is being invited on a draft version of the Northern Territory Sport and Active Recreation Master Plan.

The draft report is the result of extensive engagement and consultation activities undertaken by Strategic Leisure Group (now Otium Planning Group) and PriceWaterhouse Coopers Indigenous Consulting across the Territory from October to December 2015.

The Draft Master Plan focuses on six strategic directions:

1. Increase the sustainability of sport and active recreation organisations and the viability of their programs.

2. Respond to changing patterns of participation and increasing involvement in active recreation.

3. Improving facility planning and provision.

4. Support regional and remote communities.

5. Invest in urban growth areas.

6. Encourage whole-of-government program integration.

A series of community and stakeholder briefings about the plan are under way.

Comments should be submitted by 5pm on Thursday 24th March.
