read moreCentral Coast Mariners Football Club has appointed Alyssar Narey as their Chief Executive – marking the first female Chief Executive of the Mariners in the Australian Professional Football Leagues (APL) competition.
Narey brings a wealth of experience from her extensive career in sports administration, business development and agency management. Having most recently joined the Mariners from the APL, she has consistently demonstrated an ability to elevate operations, rebuild relationships and create a strong connection between the football department and administrative sides of the business.
Under Narey 's leadership, Central Coast Mariners will continue its success, building on the remarkable achievements of recent years. Her commitment to the Mariners' identity as "the community club" will see an increased focus on local engagement, developing talent and ensuring that the Central Coast remains at the heart of all the club’s endeavours.
Narey enthused “I’m really excited to lead a club with a rich history, filled with great people and with such a strong connection to the community. My goal is to make sure the Mariners continue to remain a pillar for the Central Coast and show what’s possible when a business and its community work together.”
The club would also like to extend its sincere thanks to Adam Thomson, who has served as Interim Chief Executive for the past six months.
Thomson has played a crucial role in maintaining the stability and success of the club during this transitional period and shared “I want to congratulate Alyssar on this well-de served appointment. The club is in incredibly safe hands under her leadership, and I look forward to seeing the Mariners continue to thrive.”
The Central Coast Mariners Board is confident that Alyssar Narey's leadership will not only continue the club's success but also set new standards. Her appointment marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the Mariners, one that promises to bring even greater achievements and a stronger connection with the community.
The club also announced that Chairman Richard Peil will be stepping back from his day-to-day involvement with the Mariners as he focuses on his other business ventures. Peil’s trusted business partner of many years, Jordan Smith, will be taking over as Executive Chairman.
Peil, who has been instrumental in guiding the club through some of its most successful seasons added “the past few seasons have brought me the most success and enjoyment I’ve ever experienced in football. However, the demands of my other businesses now require more of my attention. I have every confidence that Jordan and Alyssar will continue to lead the Mariners to even greater heights.”
Narey and Smith will start immediately, while Adam Thomson will continue to assist the Club for a few weeks to facilitate a smooth transition.
