The Bledisloe Cup will return to Perth’s Optus Stadium on 4th October 2025 and will notably be the only match of the Cup held in Australia next year.

The event is one of the world's biggest sporting rivalries, contested annually by Australia and New Zealand's national men's rugby union teams, the Wallabies and the All Blacks.

WA Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti noted "The Bledisloe Cup is a much-loved sporting event with a track record of huge success in Perth, so we're very excited to be bringing it back in 2025 in the midst of our golden decade of rugby.

"Having the Bledisloe Cup as the only one on Australian soil next year is a massive coup, and with the passion and enthusiasm rugby fans have for this event in particular, we're expecting many of them to make the trip across the country to witness this spectacle.

"There's so much happening for rugby union fans in WA with the HSBC SVNS returning for a second year in January, the Western Force set to play on home turf in the opening fixture of the highly anticipated 2025 British & Irish Lions tour, and of course the entire nation gearing up to host the Rugby World Cup in 2027."

Tourism and hospitality packages are now on sale, with general tickets available early next year for the epic rugby showdown, which has historically attracted huge crowds to Optus Stadium.

The 2019 Bledisloe Cup Test still holds the sporting event attendance record for Optus Stadium at 61,000, which saw the Wallabies take home a convincing win 47-26 over the All Blacks.

Nearly 7,400 visitors from outside the State travelled to Perth for the occasion, injecting $12.5 million in visitor expenditure into the economy.

The Bledisloe Cup returned again in 2021 and was broadcast to an international audience of millions across the globe, with over 51,000 in attendance at Optus Stadium - a reduced attendance figure compared to 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

WA Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman added "our Government is very pleased to be bringing back another 'edge-of-your-seat' rugby event and we look forward to seeing Optus Stadium packed once again for the Bledisloe Cup's return to WA.

"Time and time again, Western Australia has proven to be a world-class host of these major international sporting events, and we look forward to cheering on the Wallabies as they go up against their old-time rivals, the All Blacks."
