read moreAfter a wait of almost two years, the world's tallest duelling roller coasters have reopened at Universal Studios Singapore.
Touted as the world's tallest duelling roller coasters, the ride now features redesigned vehicles said to "improve the overall guest experience" and "bring riders closer to the experience".
The opening of the revamped ride comes after Universal Studios Singapore’s recent launch of the Puss In Boots' Giant Journey ride, with both attractions featuring as part of the theme park's fifth anniversary celebrations.
Battlestar Galactica was launched as one of the signature rides of Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa in March 2010. However, the ride was plagued by problems and was closed for a review in July 2013.
Technical issues with the ride are understood to have forced the rebuild.
Commenting on the refurbished ride, Resorts World Sentosa Senior Vice President of Attractions John Hallenbeck stated “obviously safety is of utmost importance.
“We looked at this attraction and we built completely brand new ride vehicles and really turned this attraction into something different.”
Commenting on why the re-opening of the ride took so long, Hallenbeck concluded “in the stages of an attraction, you can look at from pencil to concept, to opening, it can be a three- to five-year process.
“So it's not anything that was uncommon and it's not anything where there were concerns.
“We just wanted to make sure that we go through the same process with any attraction."
