Basketball systems require certifications for installations in Queensland schools

Basketball systems require certifications for installations in Queensland schools
May 1, 2012

Sports equipment supplier RMA Sport has highlighted that the Queensland Department of Education has introduced an additional certification process for basketball systems being installed in public schools.

The certification aims to improve the quality of equipment in these facilities, ensure student safety and make sure 'homemade' systems are no longer used in school environments.

RMA point out that their systems have has already been installed in many private schools and other community facilities in Queensland and that these models have been extensively scrutinized and tested for safety, loading and endurance over an expected lifespan of 25 years.

RMA Principal Roger McCann explains "our systems passed with flying colours as was expected."

The models approved include RMA's BBESO, BNB24, BBESR, BBESW and Stadia models.

McCann adds "the advanced design and FIBA certifications now mean that this range offers the most advanced and high performance basketball structures approved for use in the

Queensland Public School system, and for the first time means that Queensland's public schools can install competition level basketball structures in their facilities."

Based in Sydney and providing services across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, RMA Sport was established in 1999 and since this time has provided sports and recreation facilities with high quality sports equipment, surfaces and advice.

Other export markets have included customers in New Caledonia, Japan, Korea and Germany.
