AUSTSWIM support women’s only swimming and water safety
AUSTSWIM recently held a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Course in Sydney, aimed at culturally and linguistically diverse women.
The course, held at the Oasis Sports Centre in the inner western suburb of Kingsgrove in mid February, attracted 23 women from a variety of different cultural backgrounds.
The weekend course was acknowledged as huge success with all the women who attended thoroughly enjoying undertaking the course and looking forward to heading back into their local communities to take part in a variety of swimming and water safety programs to complete their AUTSWIM teacher training.
AUSTSWIM course acknowledges the NSW Government and the Oasis Sports Centre for their support of the course.
AUSTSWIM is also continuing to promote its joining with Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) to present an international conference on water safety and aquatic education.
The International Water Safety and Aquatic Education Conference will be held at the Rydges Lakeland Resort, Queenstown from 3rd to 5th October.
The conference replaces the AUSTSWIM National Aquatic Education Conference normally held annually on the Gold Coast in July; and the New Zealand Water Safety Conference, hosted by Water Safety New Zealand on a bi-annual basis.
