Australia’s first open water inflatable adventure playground opens on the Gold Coast
AquaSplash, Australia's first open water inflatable adventure playground, has opened at Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast.
Complementing the Broadwater Parklands' existing free and paid water attractions, the massive installation of Wibit Sports inflatable play modules providing an on-water obstacle course offering children and adults hours of adventure and fun.
Operator Matthew Devine has been given a five year lease by the Gold Coast City Council to operate for the next five years and is confident that his creation will be a success.
Devine explained "this is an Australian first, Australia's first open water inflatable playground, the first of it's kind in Australia and the largest of it's kind in the world.
"To top it all off, it's hours of fun for young and the young at heart."
Safety at the attraction is the responsibility of trained lifeguards while the entire attraction is ringed by a shark net.
Prices at the water playground are $5 for children aged five to 10 yesars, $10 for those aged 11 to 16 and $15 for the over 17s.
For Wibit Sports this is their largest installation in the southern hemisphere.
