read moreHundreds of stakeholders in the fast-growing sports technology industry are set to converge on Melbourne from Tuesday for Australia Sports Innovation Week (ASIW) - the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most respected sports technology experience.
Running from Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th October, and featuring the Australia Sports Tech Conference on Thursday 24th October, ASIW offers an extensive range of events and workshop over its four days.
Australia Sports Tech Conference
The culmination of Australia Sports Technology Week (ASTW), the conference, being staged at the MCG, features leaders from around the world along with industry panels covering key topics in the sports tech industry in Australia, as well as internationally. Delegates will be able to learn from and network with leaders that have driven innovation in their clubs and organisations.

Motorsport Innovation & Research Workshop - hosted by RMIT Motorsport - Tuesday 22nd October from 2:30pm
RMIT Motorsport has over 20 years experience in the design, manufacture, assembly, testing and racing of electric-powered, sustainable, open-wheel race cars. Join the RMIT Motorsport team for a behind the scenes tour of the design and build of their twelfth electric vehicle and the innovations and research helping shape the future of motorsport. This tour is designed for those with a keen interest in engineering, innovation and motorsport.
Sports Tech Academic Day - hosted by Deakin University - Wednesday 23rd October from 9:30am
Sports Tech Academic Day will provide an insight into the latest research and academic projects being undertaken across APAC, and how they are impacting the Sports Tech industry. This event is open to all universities and industry attendees, and is designed to showcase current research and projects nearing or entering commercialisation. If you are interested in showcasing your academic research or project, you can apply to present your work.
Roundtable on Accessibility in Sport - presented by etrainu - Wednesday 23rd October from 9:30am
This roundtable presented by etrainu and Disability Sport and Recreation will dive into the landscape of accessibility in sport. This will be a forum to discuss how we can all work together to create better accessible environments at a grassroots level. This roundtable is ideal for sports organisations that are looking to collaborate and create positive change.
Women-led Design - presented by ASTN - Wednesday 23rd October from 10am
The Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN) are excited to present a showcase and storytelling event – "Women-led Design". This event features trailblazing women founders who have revolutionised the field with their cutting-edge products and solutions, created to cater for women-specific sports apparel, protective wear, health & fitness pursuits, and children’s physical development. Strengthening Volunteer Capacities: Tackling Discrimination with Policy Innovation & AI - presented by Swinburne - Wednesday 23rd October from 1pm
Join us for an interactive workshop exploring how technology can combat discrimination and hate in community sports. We will introduce a pioneering project that co-creates policy templates and develops a supportive Large Language Model (LLM) to streamline anti-discrimination efforts. This tool standardises responses, enhances decision-making, and eases volunteer workloads.

This Performance Workshop Series is designed to given an overview and insight into three key areas where the latest approaches in the world of sports psychology can be applied to sporting clubs, organisations and athletes. Across three separate workshops, attendees will gain a foundational understanding of how to build a performance psychology curriculum, how to build high performance environments and the role of mental conditioning programs.

The Australia and New Zealand Sports Technology Awards (ANZSTA) recognises and celebrates excellence in data, digital and technology across the Sports, Media, Entertainment, Health and Technology landscapes. Applications are via an online process with Finalists shortlisted by a Panel of Industry Experts. Join us as the winners are announced at the ANZSTA Finals Cocktail Event during Sports Innovation Week.

Building on the momentum of the week, this session will use the expert lens to consider the optimal future design of National Sport Organisations from a data and technology perspective. In designing an NSO for 2034, attendees will contribute to objectives, structures, technology adoption and collaboration within the future sport business ecosystem.
Sport Textiles Innovation Workshop - presented by RMIT University - Friday 25th October from 1:30pm
Sporting apparel and garments have seen a huge amount of innovation over recent years. This is being led by research into new materials, manufacturing processes, seamless bonding techniques and other innovations that are opening the door for new items of consumer and professional sporting apparel. Join the RMIT textiles team to gain an insight into some of the recent industry collaborations and projects as well as get a tour of the textiles research and testing lab.
