Australasian Leisure Management agrees new industry partnerships, launches new Asian business website

Australasian Leisure Management agrees new industry partnerships, launches new Asian business website
September 3, 2020

Amid the challenges facing the leisure industry and all its sectors in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia, Australasian Leisure Management Publisher, Nigel Benton feels that the Coronavirus pandemic has reinforced the role of both this online news portal and the printed Australasian Leisure Management magazine as a consistent, reliable and independent source of news and best practice for the industry.

Benton also points to some significant developments for the business.

Partnerships boosting circulation
With partnerships with the industry’s member organisations and professional associations having been the cornerstone of the magazine’s circulation success, Australasian Leisure Management will be welcoming several new bodies as partners, with members of these association set to receive the magazine as a membership benefit.

These new organisations will join the Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA); the Australian Leisure Facilities Association (ALFA); the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA); the Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand (EVANZ); the Exercise Association of New Zealand (ExerciseNZ); Sports and Play Industry Association (SAPIA) and the Venue Management Association [Asia and Pacific] (VMA) in having their members receive the magazine.

These new links will see the circulation of the printed Australasian Leisure Management magazine, which reached 11,500 for the first time ever, increase further.

Online expansion
Readers will have noticed that this website now contains more news content, with the Australasian Leisure Management team not only being able to source more content but also receiving more news from across the industry in the form of press releases, updates and contributions.

As Benton explains “we welcome content from across the industry to inform the industry.”

In turn, online readership continues to grow with Google Analytics figures showing that the www.ausleisure.com.au website has achieved fourfold growth during the last 12 months to record more than 5 million impressions a month.

In addition, mindful that some readers of the printed magazine may have experienced challenges in accessing their copies, for the first time ever, the latest and recent issues of the printed Australasian Leisure Management magazine can be read online - just a week or so after its publication.

Issues from 136 onwards can now be viewed through popular electronic magazine software Issuu.

The new Asian Leisure Business website
With the world becoming more inter-connected and Australia and New Zealand’s leisure industry having ever growing links with Asia, readers will have noticed our publication of an increasing amount of Asian-oriented news.

With use of the website by professionals in Asia growing, the resources of Australasian Leisure Management have been used to power the pages of a new website - Asian Leisure Business.

Aimed at professionals and decision makers from Saudi to Sapporo, Bali to Beijing, www.asianleisure.biz is the first website delivering news specific to the leisure industry in Asia.

Already including Asia-specific content and attracting a growing readership, the new website also includes a free to use recruitment page for job vacancy listings.
