ANZ Stadium looks back on hosting of 57 events in 2017
Sydney’s ANZ Stadium has provided an account of the major events it hosted in 2017, which attracted an aggregate attendance of close to 1.7 million.
Hosting 57 events in 2017, 13 of which attracted crowds in excess of 50,000, highlights included the Socceroos winning two sudden-death qualifiers in October-November to make it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, singing superstar Adele’s two sold-out performances in March - which drew the biggest attendances of the year, and Arsenal’s first visit to Australia in 40 years – which attracted a total of 163,652 fans.
The aggregate attendance for 2017 was 1,641,024 fans through the gates for events, with a total visitation at ANZ Stadium for 2017 reaching 1.7 million.
Overall, the Sydney Olympic Park precinct welcomed almost 15 million visitors during the year.
