ADCO Constructions commences work on historic Perth Concert Hall

Works have commenced on the $150.3 million transformation of the historic Perth Concert Hall with the revitalisation project having been awarded to Australian company ADCO Constructions.

ADCO Constructions is breaking ground on essential structural work required to restore the integrity of the heritage-listed building.

A digital fly-through of the Perth Concert Hall project has been released which shows a new and improved entry experience, through a redesigned and landscaped forecourt to create a more connected and welcoming approach to the venue.

The revitalisation also includes internal refurbishments such as the creation of a home for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra including office and rehearsal spaces, new bar areas and events spaces. The auditorium entry, lifts and stairs will also be remodelled to improve venue accessibility.

Updated seating, lighting and backstage facilities have been carefully considered to preserve the venue's distinctive features and internationally renowned acoustic features.

The $150.3 million investment includes $134.3 million in State Government funding, $12 million from the Commonwealth Government and $4 million from the City of Perth.

The popular concert venue was the first Australian concert hall built after World War II.
