About Hockey South Australia
Hockey SA is the peak body representing the game of hockey in South Australia. Hockey SA is made up from metropolitan and regional associations and represents almost 7000 members. Hockey SA members range from the age of 5 – 75 with strong representation across age, gender and all abilities. 

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Commercial Operations Manager will be responsible for maximising commercial opportunities by expanding existing accounts, nurturing current client needs and securing new business. This role is responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders including partners and program leads. The Commercial Operations Manager is also responsible of the oversight and supervision of the management of the facilities, marketing, communications and events.  

Key Accountabilities 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the State Hockey Centre 
  • Provide support to the CEO in precuring and managing the sponsorship and commercial programs of Hockey SA & Adelaide Fire (AF), ensuring the appropriate management of sponsor agreements (including Hockey SA deliverables). 
  • Prospect and obtain new business for Hockey SA & AF, including preparing proposals and presentations for client campaigns and events.
  • Provide support to the CEO in delivering the Membership & Ticketing strategy for Adelaide Fire. 
  • Work with Hockey SA Clubs and Associations to deliver well managed events and programs which enhance the members experiences.
  • Growth in commercial revenue in line with the Stronger Together ambition.
  • Support the development of all Board Papers and documents for Board Meetings and organisational meetings (including but not limited to the AGM). 
  • Provide operational support in the delivery of Hockey SA events where required.

 
Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role within sports and/or relevant not for profit, member-based organisation
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in the field of Sports Administration or Business Coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Very strong attention to detail and highly organised
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills gained from previous work experience or community involvement
  • A thorough knowledge of best practice and trends in the event and sport management environment
  • Able to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholder
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in line with the requirements to meet event schedules
